Stopping in for a quick write up of a hike we went on the other day, its a local favorite great for young hikers. It was a hike hosted by another Hike it Baby Monadnock Branch Ambassador so I was happy to join and not have to play hostess and just hike! Cranberry Meadow is a 7 mile trail that goes from downtown peterborough and joins the Raymond Trail on Pack Monadnock. There are multiple trailheads making it very easy to section hike it. On Wednesday we explored the Wheeler trail section. Its a short 1 mile loop trail that features four different bridges to cross (non with railings so use caution!), bog boards and in season berries. Its a fun trail, perfect for little explorers.
This time out there was a significant blow down that needs some trail work but its still possible to make it around (or under). We also were swarmed by black flies! They are out already.
